Nestled along the tranquil shores of Cally Loch in Dunkeld lies a hidden oasis of serenity: Glen Glack Cabins. My recent two-night stay at these cabins was nothing short of magical—an experience that left me enchanted by the sheer beauty and tranquility of the surroundings.

From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the exquisite detail and charm of the cabins. Tucked away amidst the wilderness, they exuded a sense of luxury that seamlessly melded with the natural landscape. It was a retreat where every comfort was provided, yet the essence of wilderness remained untouched.

For two blissful days, I was immersed in the symphony of birdsong and the gentle rustle of leaves, with nothing to disturb the peace but the occasional breeze. It was a rare opportunity to disconnect from the chaos of everyday life and reconnect with nature in its purest form.

But the allure of Glen Glack extends beyond its secluded cabins. A short venture into the nearby village of Dunkeld revealed a treasure trove of delights. The quaint streets lined with unique shops, bakeries, and coffee shops beckoned for exploration. Each corner revealed a new delight, from artisanal crafts to delectable treats.

One particular highlight was stumbling upon a bistro overlooking the majestic River Tay. Basking in the warmth of a sunny day, I savoured a refreshing beer in the company of friends, soaking in the beauty of the surroundings. It was a moment of pure joy—a perfect blend of relaxation and indulgence.

As I reluctantly bid farewell to Glen Glack and Dunkeld, I promised myself that this wouldn’t be my last visit. There was still so much left to explore, including the historic castle nestled within Atholl Estates—a sight that promises to enchant and inspire.

A Tranquil Escape: My Time at Kabn Company 

Nestled amidst the breathtaking mountains of the Trossachs National Park lies a hidden gem – Kabn Company on Loch Fyne. My recent getaway to this idyllic retreat was nothing short of magical, offering a perfect blend of relaxation and immersion in nature’s splendor. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the serene surroundings of the loch and the awe-inspiring mountains that embraced it. The two eco cabins, nestled among the trees at the water’s edge, seamlessly blended into the landscape, offering a cozy sanctuary where I could unwind and rejuvenate. Owned by the delightful Charlie and Amber, Kabn Company exuded warmth and hospitality, even in their absence. Every detail of the cabin was meticulously curated, from the luxurious interior to the eco-friendly amenities. 

The wood structure imparted a sense of rustic charm, while the modern comforts ensured a truly indulgent stay. One of the highlights of my retreat was the traditional cooking experience in the wood-fired oven. While the gas hob offered convenience, I couldn’t resist the allure of cooking over an open flame. The first night, I savored a perfectly seared steak accompanied by asparagus, homemade chips, and a decadent peppercorn sauce, all paired with a delightful red wine. The following evening, I indulged in a succulent roast chicken, infused with BBQ spice and cooked to perfection in the wood oven. Served alongside a fresh rocket salad and roasted vegetables, it was a culinary delight that exceeded all expectations. In between indulgent meals and leisurely strolls along the loch, I embraced the invigorating chill of the water with a dip in the freezing cold loch. It was a refreshing experience that left me feeling energised and rejuvenated, a testament to the rejuvenating power of nature. 

 As my time at Kabn Company came to an end, I found myself already dreaming of my next adventure. The experience provided by Charlie and Amber was nothing short of extraordinary, leaving an indelible mark on my soul. I eagerly anticipate my next journey with Kabn Company, wherever it may lead.
